Hanging Leg Raise
The hanging leg raise trains the abs and hip flexors, and your grip along the way.

Setup
Hang from the bar with straight arms, shoulders down. Legs together, body still.
Execution
- Hang from the bar with an overhand grip, arms straight — starting position.
- Exhale and raise your straight legs to a 90° angle with your torso, holding for a second.
- Inhale and lower them back down slowly.
Common mistakes
- Swinging — start every rep from a calm hang.
- Only lifting the legs — curl your pelvis toward your chest at the top, that's where the abs work.
- Dropping your legs — lower them slowly.
- Can't lift straight legs — start with bent-knee raises.
