Cable Crunch
The cable crunch is a kneeling crunch with a rope: your abs work against a load you can add to like any other exercise.

Setup
Clip a rope to the high pulley and kneel facing it. Hold the ends beside your head. Hips over your knees, thighs still.
Execution
- Kneel below the high pulley, holding the rope ends at your face — starting position.
- Exhale and curl down, bringing your elbows toward your thighs using your abs, not your arms.
- Inhale and return to the starting position.
Common mistakes
- Sitting back onto your heels by bending at the hips — your thighs stay put, only your spine curls.
- Pulling with your arms — the rope stays by your head, your abs pull.
- Going too heavy — if you can't round your back, your arms and bodyweight are doing it.
- Letting the weight yank you up — come back slowly.
